So who are Steven and Richard?

For over 35 years, we have been in the bicycle business. From owning bike shops, to designing bicycles for Kestrel Bicycles, Elite Bicycles, and Blue Competition Cycles, we’ve done it all.

Steven and Richard started Steven's Mobile Bike Repair in 2020 to help people get their bikes back on the road during the pandemic. They were doing mobile only repairs in addition to their day jobs. As their reputation grew, and the need for quality independent bike mechanics became apparent, they upgraded to opening the barn and full-time wrenching.

We both hold certificates from the East Coast Bicycle Academy, Serotta Bike Fit, Fit Kit and continually update our education with Shimano and Sram, plus all E-Bike companies. We are also consultants for Wolff Electric Bicycles and import Ceepo bicycles in addition to running the shop.

If you are looking for your 1-stop source for all things bicycles, please give us a call at 267.641.5660 or send an email to info@stevensmobilebikerepair.com

  • Richard Mayberry bike repair expert

    Richard Mayberry

Rich has been in the bicycle industry for almost 40 years. His love of cycling started in his early 20’s as a substitute for smoking. He raced for several years in USCF amateur racing. He has earned certifications from East Coast Bicycle Academy and Fit Kit and began as a professional bike mechanic in 1988. During that time, he also gained experience wrenching for a local seasonal pro team. He came to work for Steven at Steve’s Bike and Fitness in 1991 where he did fittings, and built and repaired both standard and custom bikes.

Rich’s love for the sport is not just professional. He's also passionate about teaching and sharing the sport with others by volunteering. These have included bicycle safety training classes for kids, developing and leading a 5-year volunteer tandem cycling program for students at Overbrook School for the Blind, and coaching for the local Special Olympics and Camp Abilities.

Bike Repair barn located in Lansdale PA

The Barn

The Barn, which houses the shop for Steven’s Mobile Bike Repair, is an old wagon barn built back in the mid 1800s. If you drop by, be sure to check out the high barn door with the smaller “person” door cut into it. This huge door opened into a two story high room that housed the large horse drawn farm wagon or carriage (no longer there). To the left you will see a door cut into just the second story used to load in or drop hay out of the hayloft.  The bike shop room was originally a tack room and you can still see some of the wooden pegs that make up the mortis and tenon joints common in structures of that time period. It is interesting to note that, as a source of income during the Great Depression, this room was used as a guinea pig “pen”. Hutches housing guinea pigs lined the walls and center of the room. These animals were raised for eventual sale to locals as a source of protein.
